A Wise Tail.
Time flows like a river. No, more like a stream. Unnoticed but continuously moving. Age can begin to creep upon you unexpectedly. It's like a tail that begins to grow on you. You don't think much of it at first. It's just this strange nub. It serves no purpose and sometimes it gets in the way of things, but it sprouts and one day you look back and you see this tail on you. What the hell is this for? You wonder about it, but you begin to accept it -- partly because you just have to, partly because you can't get rid of it. You slowly learn to use it and find it practical at times. It gives you a greater sense of balance. It allows you to do things you couldn't do before. You can now safely climb higher and gain a greater perspective on the world. It gives you an extra hold on life. All this from this strange growth that time laid upon you. It's a shame that some people never properly learn to live with their tales. They'd rather hide it in shame and confusion when really, the truth is, we all have 'em.
